Girls Weekend!

We love to joke about it being a “GIRLS WEEKEND” whenever my friend Brenley comes to visit because Trav usually joins in on the fun. She came to visit this weekend, and we had a nice time eating, drinking wine, exploring around the county, and catching up. Brenley was one of my roommates in college, and we’ve remained best friends ever since. I know I can call her anytime, tell her anything, and she will always be there to support me through my ups and downs. We’ve been through many phases of life together and apart, and it’s interesting to see where life has taken us — we are in such different places now compared to the days when we were running around Chico State together.

“Girls Weekend” is a good reminder of the necessity to have strong female friendships. My girlfriends are a key component to me having a happy, connected life. The kinship women feel for each other is so different than the relationships that are experienced with your partner, kids, etc. Women have shared experiences and a deeper understanding of each other that many times men can just never grasp. I appreciate the women in my life whom I can count on. I honestly don’t know how people can survive without these kind of deep friendships (is that even possible?). So, this is an appreciation post for true friendships and the love between friends. It was another successful “Girls Weekend!”
